Innovations in language learning and teaching conference
This is the first time an event associated with TESOL (Teaching of English of Speakers to Other Languages) International is being held in Colombia. The conference gathered teachers, researchers and policy- makers from the area of language education to work on topics including young learners, learners with special needs, digital technologies, intercultural competences, multilingualism, academic and professional literacies, teacher training, and autonomy and self-directed learning.
Joining the event as featured speakers there was a number of researchers well known in the international arena, including Dr. Jozef Colbaert (University of Antwerp, Belgium), Dr. Hayo Reinders (Unitec Institute of Technology, New Zealand & Anaheim University, United States of America), Dr. Wendy Chambers (University of Alberta, Canada), Dr. Amy Thompson (University of South Florida, United States of America), Dr. Anne- Marie Truscott de Mejia (Universidad de Los Andes, Colombia), Dr. Amparo Clavijo (Universidad Distrital Francisco Jose Caldas, Colombia), and Dr. Adriana Gonzalez (Universidad de Antioquia, Colombia).
